Capital Health Hospital and Central Plant
This beautiful brand new $777 million hospital was built with all the latest technology. Located in Hopewell Township, NJ on an undeveloped 75-acre site, the hospital replaced the existing Mercer Medical Center in Trenton. The first phase of the new hospital created a 6 story 600,000 sq ft space with 350 beds. Future phases will add another 500 beds and up to 500,000 additional sq ft of medical office space.
Binsky & Snyder was awarded the Central Utility Plant as well as the HVAC and underground plumbing. At that time, Binsky had completed 27,000 ft of underground piping and has set 4 boilers, 4 chillers, and 4-20,000 ton fuel oil tanks in the stand-alone central utility plant building. Binsky's Fabrication shop completed much of the necessary x-ray welding, the remainder was performed on site.
Construction began on the main facility, where Binsky installed 941 VAV boxes, 30 air handlers, and an additional 115,000 ft of piping. The design called for energy-efficient equipment and recycled materials. Binsky & Snyder is proud to have provided the mechanical components for the new, modern healthcare facility.
