New Valley Hospital

Valley Health System is building a new state-of-the-art facility in Paramus, NJ. Binsky was awarded this contract in July of 2020 with a deadline for completion in the summer of 2022. Binsky’s scope of work includes furnishing and installation of the mechanical core and shell package throughout all seven floors of this healthcare superstructure.

The central utility plant (CUP), located on floors 1-3, will house all major mechanical equipment such as hydronic boilers, steam boilers, chillers, and piping distribution throughout the facility. Chillers on the 2nd floor of the CUP will generate the chilled water for the building utilizing cooling towers on the roof.

Acting as the heart of the hydronic mechanical systems, the CUP is where the heating, cooling, and steam systems originate. Chillers, pumps, hydronic boilers, steam boilers, as well as a heat recovery chiller area are all housed here designed together for maximum efficiency. Air handlers on the roof and just outside the CUP on the third-floor mechanical room heat and cool the air; generating all the heating and cooling for the entire building.

Additionally, Binsky is the lead on the assembly and installation of 188 prefabricated corridor racks. Valley Health System rented a large fabrication warehouse in Fair Lawn, NJ specifically for the extensive amount of prefabrication on this project. Each corridor rack contains multiple systems such as perimeter heating hot water, reheat heating hot water, chilled water, domestic waters, medical air, medical vacuum, and oxygen. These medical systems are built with clean brazed copper to meet the safety and reliability standards for a healthcare facility. Upon completion, racks will be installed within floors 4-7 to allow for a fit-out contractor to install plumbing, medical gas, and HVAC in each individual patient room.
